About the Award

Airbus and the GEDC have created an award for diversity in engineering education to recognise individuals who have been proactive in bringing more diversity into engineering classrooms. The award, with 10,000 USD to support the recipient in continuing their work in this field, aims to give visibility to, and reward initiatives which encourage students of all profiles and backgrounds to study and to succeed in engineering.

The long term aim of this award is to increase the diversity among the global community of engineering professionals, so that the engineering industry reflects the diversity of the communities it supports. With more diversity we can stimulate creativity and also ensure that more students have the opportunity to experience and value working in diverse teams; just the kind of experience industry recruiters are looking for.
